+Keep reusable test input here, outside the disposable `build/` tree.
+
+- `dat-history/` preserves archive snapshots used during version-bar work.
+- `dillo-cache/archives/` preserves the historical Dillo cache used for
+  Dat/Dillo compatibility checks. Its legacy `dat.json` is test input; new
+  archives from this project use `dat.scm`.
+- `dillo-dpip/cold-input` is a canned DPIP request sequence.
+- `windows/hello.c` is the tiny MSYS2 compiler smoke source.
+
+Per-machine keys, bootstrap identity, and test run output belong under the
+ignored `local-data/` directory and are not source-distribution contents.
