+
+`MorePerfectDOSVGA.ttf` is the exact font file loaded by both SDL clients through SDL_ttf. It is by LÆMEUR, based on Zeh Fernando's Perfect DOS VGA 437. The author states that the font is free for commercial and non-commercial use; see the [font page](https://laemeur.sdf.org/fonts/) for details.

+At runtime the clients use the real TrueType outlines and metrics, with monochrome hinting for crisp DOS-style pixels. SDL2_ttf is required when building with `ENABLE_SDL2=1`. The default local path is `assets/fonts/MorePerfectDOSVGA.ttf`; installed clients load it from `$(PREFIX)/share/datgpt/fonts/MorePerfectDOSVGA.ttf`. Set `DAT_THANG_FONT_FILE` to override the runtime font path.

+`Unifont-18.0.01.otf` is bundled as the Unicode fallback for compact Base32768 addresses. The address alphabet is restricted to the Unicode Basic Multilingual Plane; startup checks every one of its 32,768 main glyphs and 128 padding glyphs against the bundled font and refuses to continue if any glyph is absent. Unifont's official release describes coverage for every printable BMP code point. It is dual-licensed under SIL OFL 1.1 and GPL-2-or-later with the font embedding exception; the OFL text is included beside the font.
